Ruminococcus lactaris (GenBank Accession Number for 16S rDNA gene: L76602*) is a member of the Firmicutes division of the domain bacteria and has been isolated from human feces. The sequenced strain was obtained from ATCC (ATCC# 29176). This is from the HGMI project.
* The available GenBank Accession Number is for the 16S rDNA gene of a related strain of Ruminococcus lactaris, not the sequenced strain.
