Neisseria sicca (GenBank Accession Number for 16S rDNA gene: AJ247248) is a member of the Proteobacteria division of the domain bacteria and has been isolated from the pharyngeal mucosa. The sequenced strain was obtained from Nathan Weyand, ATCC# 29256.
