Neisseria lactamica (GenBank Accession Number for 16S rDNA gene: AJ239286) is a member of the Proteobacteria division of the domain bacteria and has been isolated from the nasopharynx. The sequenced strain was obtained from Nathan Weyand ATCC (ATCC# 23970).
