Eubacterium saphenum (GenBank Accession Number for 16S rDNA gene: U65987) is a member of the Firmicutes division of the domain bacteria and has been isolated from human periodontal pockets. The sequenced strain, ATCC 49989, was obtained from Floyd E. Dewhirst and Jacques Izard - HOMD ID: SEQF1017.
