Desulfovibrio piger (GenBank Accession Number: AF192152*) is a member of the division Proteobacteria of the domain bacteria and has been isolated from human feces. The sequenced strain was obtained from an anonymous donor (Strain# GOR1). This is from the HGMI project.

*The available GenBank Accession Number is for the 16S rDNA gene of a related strain of Desulfovibrio piger, not this sequenced strain.
