Oral Cavity Isolate

Catonella morbi (GenBank Accession Number for 16S rDNA gene: NR_026248) is a member of the Firmicutes division of the domain bacteria and has been isolated from the the gingival crevice of an adult patient with periodontitis. The sequenced strain was obtained from Floyd E. Dewhirst and Jacques Izard (ATCC# 51271).
